Downtown Area Plan
Work in vibrant Downtown Shattuck and neighboring area to clean streets, paint light poles and park benches, and remove graffiti. This project is not only highly visible, but also close, convenient, and sponsored by the city.

Downtown Berkeley Association
The DBA is dedicated to the creation of a downtown that is economically vital and culturally exciting. Beautify our stomping grounds by painting city property, removing flyers, cleaning tree wells, and possibly operating gum-removing machinery.

Virginia Street NA
Help senior residents of the Virginia Street Neighborhood Association to seismically retrofit their homes as well as prepare emergency earthquake materials.

East Bay Depot
The East Bay Depot is a nonprofit corporation devoted to getting people to reuse materials. Help them sort, clean, and organize their merchandise.

Eastshore State Park
Get involved! Clean up the beaches of Eastshore State Park.

Berkeley Marina Environmental Education Program
Learn how many ways you can have a positive effect on the earth by participating in a Shoreline clean-up at the beautiful Berkeley Marina. You will get to see a video on Plastics in the marine environment.

Berkeley Path Wanderers
BPW is dedicated to the creation, preservation and restoration of Berkeley's public paths, steps and walkways. Help clear out a local walking path and install wooden steps.

UCB Dept. of EH&S - Strawberry Creek
Remove ivy that is killing our very own oak trees and pick up trash before it reaches the City of Berkeley and beyond.

Kaiser Elementary School
This is a project that is looking for people who are interested in building from scratch. Kaiser Elementary needs you to build 12 raised planter boxes to be used for garden and science projects.

Berkeley Public Health Clinic
Help the Health and Human Services Division by painting, doing light yard work, sorting files, and stuffing sexual education kits!

CALPIRG
Help the homeless with job and interview skills at this special workshop held by CALPIRG.

Youth Emergency Assistance Hostel
The Youth Emergency Assistance Hostel provides shelter and meals to homeless youth during the cold winter months.  Help them prepare homemade dinners to be frozen and used when needed! 

Berkeley Boosters
You with the paintbrush! Use your art skills to finish a school mural.

Homeless Action Center
The HAC is a non-profit legal services program for homeless and mentally ill people in our community. On BP Day, be trained and assist homeless and low-income individuals in filling out food stamp applications.

Prisoner's Lit Project
Prisoners Literature Project is a grassroots organization that sends free books to prisoners in the United States. Volunteers will have a chance to read letters from prisoners and to select and package books accordingly.

Suitcase Clinic
The Suitcase Clinic offers free services and supplies to the uninsured, homeless and low-income communities of the San Francisco Bay Area. Help them by maintaining the free showers at Willard pool. You will also get to put on a dinner in People's Park and complete a needs-assessment of services for the homeless.

Baxter Creek Stewards
Volunteer at the newly opened Baxter Creek Gateway Park! Activities include planting, weeding, and clean-up along with an educational talk on stewardship and restoration.

The Watershed Project
Would you like to help restore Stege Marsh at UC Berkeley's Richmond Field Station? Work with the Watershed Project to do some planting and weeding at the site!

Native Here Nursery
NHN is a nonprofit that collects native seeds and grow plants for sale to the general public and to restoration groups, schools, and public agencies. Help operate the nursery by watering, transplanting, selling, loading, triming, and weeding plants.

West Berkeley Project Area
A double whammy! Help weed, mulch, and lay seeds near the Berkeley Aquatic Park and also in a section of property across the street from Spengers Fish Grotto on 4th street. You will also be replacing the rope poles on 4th street.

North Hills Landscape Committee
This is a huge site looking to use 100 Cal volunteers to remove invasive brush that poses an extreme fire hazard to both Berkeley and Oakland. Cut down French bloom and chop up brush with Cal Trans (who are coming out just for us!). This is a rewarding and very important project that is crucial to helping Berkeley remain fire safe.

Codornices Creek Council
CCC has been working towards ecologically restoring the watershed to provide wildlife habitats, support diverse vegetation, and create coastal wetlands. Help them restore the creek health by removing invasive plants and planting naturally found plant life.

Food Not Bombs
Food Not Bombs serves five meals a week in People's Park. Now help them beautify the park by planting a garden.

California Native Plant Society
Work with CNPS East Bay to perform some weeding at the beautiful Coastal Scrub Prarie at Tilden Park!

Aquatic Park EGRET
Help spread wood chips around native plantings along the shoreline of San Francisco Bay. Other volunteers can try a hand in urban archeology, excavating historic masonry terraces from the park's construction in the 1930's.

Friends of Five Creeks
Volunteer for a restoration project at Cerrito Creek! Help Friends of Five Creeks plant native plants, remove invasive plants, and control erosion in this surprising and historic urban wildland at the foot of Albany Hill

Berkeley Youth Alternatives
BYA provides a safe growing space for the youth of Berkeley. Help them by making new plant beds, harvesting summer crops, and planting winter crops.

Halcyon Commons
Participate in Halcyons Commons' annual planting and mulching day (rescheduled JUST for the Berkeley Project)! Also help them remove graffiti.

Northside Community Garden
Lend a hand to remove weeds and invasive ivy from this sustainable community garden. You will also be repairing the walls of their shed!

People's Park Community Garden
Help maintain one of the iconic areas of the city of Berkeley! Clean up plant beds, plant winter crops, and work with the homeless.

Peralta Community Garden
The Peralta Community Garden needs your help to get rid of weeds and also to maintain their trails.

Spiral Gardens
The Spiral Gardens is a nonprofit nursery, food garden, and outdoor community classroom. Come help them pot and transplant plants, weed, and landscape.

Schoolhouse Creek Commons
The Schoolhouse Creek Commons needs your help to install their spiffy new playground. You will be digging a the playground pit, weeding, and generally beautifying the site.

Alzheimer's Services of the East Bay
ASEB is a non-profit community organization that provides services to individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other related dementia. Make their building shine by coming to paint and landscape.

Hopper Commons Association
The Hopper Commons Accosiations needs you to lend a hand at their Karl Lin Gardens. You will also be painting a toolshed and an outhouse.

Ohlone Community Garden
Contribute by constructing wooden plant beds, weeding, and painting a shed for this great community garden.

Building Opportunities For Self-Sufficiency
BOSS is dedicated to helping homeless, poor, and disabled people achieve health and self-sufficiency. Pitch in on BP Day by landscaping and painting a kitchen and bathrooms.

Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society
EB Humane Society nurtures and shelters companion animals until they are placed in loving homes. Help on BP Day by painting a kennel area, a kitchen, and doing some light yard-work.

Berkeley Free Clinic
BFC is a non-profit medical/dental clinic that provides free services for men and women of all backgrounds. Help by patching/painting walls, cleaning office space, hauling furniture and equipment, and doing light yard work.

Chaparral House
Chaparral House is one of only a handful of nonprofit, nonsectarian, community based skilled nursing Eldercare communities in the entire state of California, caring for 49 Residents from a wide diversity of backgrounds and cultures.  Their aging building needs exterior paint, so come visit and help paint their home!

Asian American Association
Help restore and maintain the aging stormdrains of Berkeley.

Center for the Education of the Infant Deaf
CEID provides intensive and comprehensive early intervention services to children who have hearing losses or servere speech/language delays. Help in their mission by painting and maintaining their facilities.

Turning Point Youth Center
This youth center is a place for troubled youth to find shelter and support. Help these kids feel at home by painting some interior rooms.

Aquatic Park Playground
Rain season is coming and wood rots! Help waterproof this playground before it gets too late.
